Commissioned by Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft in Louisville for the exhibition Food, Clothing, or Shelter curated by Aldy Milliken, this painting installation is an architectural expansion of a painting with an eponymous title from Raskin's For Ellsworth series. The original painting employed the palette and formal play of Ellsworth Kelly to depict vertical blinds from Raskin's grandparents' living room in suburban south Florida. This intervention continued the artist's exploration of how familiar objects like architectural elements can be re-scaled and repurposed to alter the viewer's physical experience of a place. Executed on luan and cut into six- and seven-inch-wide strips, the painting spanned the staircase as viewers ascended from the first to the second floor.
